Hunger in west Africa
Millions face hunger in west Africa
The UN and other agencies are calling for additional help - personnel and funding - to meet the increasing food problem in west Africa. Archbishop Michel Cartatéguy SMA of Niamey, Niger, is running several feeding programmes in that country, where up to half the population face hunger. Niger has a population of 13.4 million.
