Not too late to love, forgive and rebuild South Sudan
On 27 July 2016, Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala, head of Tombura-Yambio Diocese and the Inter-Faith Council for Peace Initiatives in Greater Western Equatoria, issued a moving letter to the people of South Sudan calling for peace and unity. Bishop Kussala reminded his people, despite the devestation rendered by a vicious civil war, that it is never too late to love, forgive and rebuild.
He also praised the courage and humanity of foreign missionaries who have chosen to stay with his people, many displaced and traumatised because of the war. He described their witness as ‘love in practise’ and said they were ‘advocates of hope’.
He also praised the work of Ireland’s Trocaire and the UK’s CAFOD and other international agencies.
