SMA Missionary leading poll for International Peace Award

Fr Padraig Devine and Minister Joe McHugh TD

Fr. Patrick Devine of the Shalom Center for Conflict Resolution & Reconciliation in Kenya is short-listed for the 2016 Tipperary Peace Prize.

Totally independent of the official judging process, The Nationalist newspaper in County Tipperary is running a poll on who should win the prize.

Whilst this poll is independent of the official judging process, the work of the nominee who will head the poll will receive a lot of publicity. It would be great if the work that Shalom is involved in (with a huge number of local staff and volunteers as well as many communities, assisted by Frs Patrick Devine and Oliver Noonan SMA) either topped the poll or received a respectable number of votes that will reflect positively on missionary endeavour.

We would be obliged if you would consider offering Fr Patrick Devine SMA your vote.

As of 16:00 GMT, Friday 24 February 2017, Fr Devine was topping the poll by 46% to former Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness with 45%.
